Jose, a resident of Buffalo New York, is one of us. Back in Colombia dedicated himself to advocating for communities in underdeveloped areas. These types of efforts are often targeted over territorial disputes. He was violently persecuted and fled Colombia to seek refuge in the U.S. where he had actually started a new effort to help immigrant families.

We met his best friend attending a habeas corpus seminar where she kept asking for help in the virtual chat room. With no promises and knowing we're more than overwhelmed, we couldn't ignore her pleas for help.

Jose's mental health is suffering in addition to his physical health. His best friend says he cries every day. This country let him in through their process, there is no reason why he should be put through this.
