He was first held in Pompano Beach, Florida, and has since been transferred to the Torrance County Detention Facility in Estancia, New Mexico—nearly across the country from the Miami friends who have become his chosen family. His family is in Venezuela and Argentina, so this distance makes an already painful situation feel even harder. We miss Alejandro’s warmth, laughter, and the joy he brings into every room. It is heartbreaking to know he is so far away while the people who love him are trying to support him from here. Thanks to your generosity, we have already raised $8,600. We have set a new goal of $20,000 because his transfer has created additional expenses and challenges as we work to support him from across the country.
