Marianita says sickness spread around her inside ICE detention while requests for medical care were ignored. She describes being soaked with cold water, forced to dry off in front of an air conditioner, and later confined in a freezing punishment room while pneumonia became severe.
She was moved through ICE facilities in Florida, Louisiana, and Texas. Different buildings, but the same basic reality: her health and dignity were treated as disposable.
She should never have had to nearly die just to prove she needed care.
