New Delhi-born jazz musician Pritesh Walia has been released on bond after spending 14 days in US Immigration and Customs Enforcement custody. Detained after returning to Los Angeles on August 2, Walia described the uncertainty inside California’s Adelanto ICE Processing Center as one of the most difficult experiences of his life. While ICE has not publicly explained the reason for his detention, Walia credited his family, lawyer and the music community for helping him hold onto hope. He now plans to take time to heal and reconnect with his loved ones.
