On May 8th, CBP arrested and detained naturalized citizen María Gloria Lopez Alcala. She took her U.S. Citizenship test in November 2025, but never received a date for her oath ceremony. El Grito spoke to her via phone call at the Laredo Detention Center. It’s now been 3 months since she was detained.
