‼️ A week ago, on Monday August 10, 2026, ICE detained at least 33 people in the Capital Region in over 15 incidents. Before noon, at least 33 of our neighbors were taken from our communities. This includes a family of four with two children who were separated and sent to two detention centers (one of them being the notorious Dilley Detention Center in Texas). These are only the specific incidents that we know about and many others may have been taken this day.
In addition to these incidents, ICE was seen patrolling in many city neighborhoods, provoking fear and panic in communities. CRSC is working to document these incidents and will publish additional details as soon as possible.

Since July 2026, NY’s Capital Region has seen a significant increase in ICE activity.
We have seen:
- An increase in reported and confirmed ICE sightings
- An increase in detentions
- 15+ new vehicles and many new agents in our area
- New tactics like “flooding the zone” in Albany on 7/26, 8/4, and 8/10, provoking fear and panic across our communities.
This is activity that has been documented by CRSC, representing the minimum of the regional activity, and there is likely more activity not captured in this data. Note: Aug. 2026 data is from just the first half of the month, 8/1 - 8/17, 2026.
