⚠️ MOVEMENT AT DELANEY HALL: A large caravan of federal immigration officers was seen entering the for-profit ICE prison in Newark, New Jersey, as labor and hunger strikes continue inside the facility while protests continue outside.
Activists fear the influx of vehicles and officers could signal that detainees are being transferred to other facilities around the country in an effort to disrupt organizing efforts and silence dissent.
Meanwhile, 10-year-old Nayeli Gomez runs in fear as ICE agents exit the facility. Earlier in the day, she fainted outside the Delaney Hall gates after agents turned her and her family away from scheduled visitation with her diabetic father, who has been incarcerated at Delaney Hall for almost a year.
She suffered an ankle injury, hit her head, and was allegedly berated by ICE agents instead of assisting the injured child. Her mother shares the trauma and fear that ICE has instilled in her children with Status Coup News.
