Over 20 men inside the Adelanto ICE Processing Center and Desert View Annex have launched a hunger strike as of May 2026 in response to the inhumane conditions of the facilities. Below are the five ways in which you can help amplify their voices and support their fight!

The Adelanto Hunger Strikers have articulated the following demands:

- Bond reform: Bond determinations are described as unjust, inconsistent, and excessively high. People in detention demand a fair, transparent, and legally justified bond system.

- Improved conditions: Remediation of mold, repair of water infrastructure, clean water, functioning facilities, and habitability across all units.

- Adequate medical and mental health care: Meaningful medical appointments, appropriate treatment for chronic conditions, and substantive mental health support.

- Nutritious food: A diet that sustains basic physical health.

- Accountability for deaths: Detainees report attempted suicides inside the facility and seek answers and accountability regarding at least one individual who died in the period shortly following release from Adelanto.
