This Mother’s Day Weekend, a postpartum, breastfeeding mother is being held in ICE detention while her children and loved ones cry for her return.💔

Ana is experiencing swelling, pain, and fever consistent with mastitis after ICE detained her, separating her from her husband, four-year-old son, and one-year-old breastfeeding daughter. ICE has denied requests for her to breastfeed her daughter during visitation. Her family has now been told that she could be deported by this Sunday on MOTHER’S DAY!

Ana is an important member of our community and is everything to her children. She has no criminal record, she has an active family-based immigration petition filed by her U.S. citizen husband, and has complied with ICE requirements for years.

SSFTX knows Ana personally. We supported her after she survived six months in Karnes detention back in 2020. We know her as an extraordinary and compassionate person who deeply cares for human rights and her family.

We are calling on our community to help Ana and her family during this time.
