pslsaltlake ‼️ BRING LISANDRO HOME! ‼️ In the early morning yesterday, Lisandro Pantaleon Pacheco, a 22-year old student at the University of Utah, was on his way to work at The Bagel Den in Park City when he was stopped for a supposed "traffic violation" and later detained by ICE agents without probable cause. Lisandro was taken away to West Valley City before being transported nearly 90 more miles to Evanston, WY. Lisandro came to the U.S. as a 1-year old and has lived under the fear of his "undocumented" status for his entire life. Despite this, he's worked numerous jobs to pay his way through college and was excitedly looking forward to his College of Health graduation ceremony on Friday. Following the celebrations, he was planning to propose to his girlfriend, Britney, next week. Dozens of Lisandro's family, friends, and community members overflowed the conference room at Stowell Crayk law firm for a press conference held in his support earlier today. His attorney, Adam Crayk, told reporters that up to 8 additional people were detained by ICE agents in Park City yesterday. Crayk spoke confidently that Lisandro has a strong case to be released on petition for writ of habeas corpus––a federal civil action challenging the legality of a prisoner's detention. This is yet another escalation of ICE's terror in our communities. Lisandro should be celebrating his graduation tomorrow, surrounded by his friends and family––we demand Lisandro be brought back home to his loved ones immediately! Hands off our students! ICE out of Utah! ICE out of everywhere! View all comments
