Community members in the South Bronx and Queens are rallying behind Kamal Morales (right in first photo), who was deported to Venezuela after being detained March 2 during a routine immigration appearance.

Morales lived in Jamaica and worked as a counselor at the Community Healthcare Network South Bronx clinic. Now, Morales is the one in need after being detained, sent to detention centers in five different states, and ultimately deported to Venezuela after 12 years out of the country.
