I am completely shocked and horrified that this 19 year old nursing student who hasn’t done ANYTHING wrong was put in an orange jumpsuit and shackles, is locked in Dilley Immigration Detention Center (for 5 months now) has lost 20 pounds and they won’t let her out. She has ptsd, depression and she is having suicidal thoughts. She has no mental health care at Dilley. She cries at night and hardly sleeps. She was taking medication to sleep before Dilley due to nightmares associated with PTSD. She doesn’t have the medication anymore.

Before Dilley she was getting mental health care, working a job and a nursing student. She worked throughout high school to help her family. She became a CNA and completed other medical trainings. She has so much wonderful community support.

They let her mom and teenage sibling out because she is 19 (“an adult”) they won’t let her out. I met with her. Shes a kid in my eyes. She is so broken yet so strong but I am scared about how much longer she can hold on. This is incredibly cruel and I’m shocked at how she is being treated.

The family is from the Democratic Republic of the Congo and cannot go back. They have a very strong asylum case. Please help raise awareness about her and her case. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. Olivia, we won’t give up on getting you home.
