Otofu Ayaku’s arrest and abuse is a direct consequence of the state’s increasing assault on trans and immigrant people. His case is also another example of local police collaborating with ICE. We must speak out for the detainees while creating a culture of resistance. People need to understand that the state will assault and lie to anyone under their boot.
