Last month some of our volunteers drove a couple of children to see their father for the first time at Adelanto. We asked the children if they had any friends going through the same thing, it's how we learned about Eduardo Ochoa who is currently sitting in this awful detention center.

Asking for money sucks, it's not something we personally enjoy doing. However, without our help, about the community's help these families will be left to suffer. The amount of predatory attorneys out there is astonishing. We are seeing case after case of attorneys not wanting to meet with their own clients, not turning the necessary paperwork, overcharging-underdelivering, some attorneys have stacked their case loads so much it is harming those they represent.

The families, meanwhile, put every single penny, borrowed and saved, and their trust in these attorneys who claim to care about their best interests. As if the system wasn't corrupt enough, as if the odds aren't ready to topple on them. It's maddening..and well, here we are again, we are asking for donations We can only have so much of our own, but there's no way around this right now because his trial is a little over a week away and we need to bring Eduardo home.

(PS - we know we may receive advice to report these folks to the state bar. We agree, however it is not our decision to make. A proper submission would need to be made with paperwork, receipts Etc. when the time comes and it's appropriate and the family is safe we can do so but for now our focus is his upcoming trial ❤️🙏🏻)
