A Colombian refugee — married to an active‑duty U.S. Army soldier — has been jailed more than 2 months at the Stewart Detention Center even though she was granted parole while her asylum case is pending. 

Her husband is serving this country, stationed hours away, and he only sees this cruelty when he takes leave. As he put it: “I raised my right hand twice to serve this country — and this is how they treat me.” 

She’s listed on the National Victim Registry — which means she could face near‑certain death if deported. 

And this is happening inside detention centers like Stewart — facilities that have long been criticized for overcrowding, medical neglect, and civil‑rights violations. 

This is wrong.
This is inhumane.
This is a scandal we all should know about.
