reprorights When Marie* arrived at an ICE detention facility, she told officials she was pregnant, but they refused to believe her, according to a report from @ACLU_nationwide . She was placed in solitary confinement for days and denied access to medical care despite asking over and over to see a doctor. When she was finally taken to a medical center, she was denied translation services. No one communicated with her about what medical tests or procedures were performed — or what care she may have been denied. While detained, Marie witnessed another woman miscarry and deliver a stillborn baby alone in a facility bathroom. What’s happening inside these facilities is dangerous and it is wrong. We’re calling on members of Congress to visit ICE detention centers and investigate the conditions in which pregnant detainees and others are being held. Join us and take action today at the link in our bio now. *Per ACLU's reporting, Marie’s name has been changed to protect her identity. View all 76 comments
