Analysis of Data from the Deportation Data Project Database shows how ICE’s field office is also used as a short term detention center.

From 2023, over 1,300 have been held in these facilities, with one particular log showing how a woman was held for nearly 100 days. The youngest person was only 1 and the oldest was 79.

While Tukwila established a temporary moratorium on detention facilities, ICE is using these holding facilities as a loophole to hold people for extended periods. The conditions in these office buildings are not built for living, and are usually worse than the detention centers.

As legacy media conglomerates itself into just a handful of oligarch owned companies willingly ignoring these stories, I will continue analyzing public data and reporting on key findings relevant to Washington.
