In December, a Salvadoran day laborer named Josué was forced to the ground and detained by masked agents outside a Home Depot in Signal Hill. The incident was captured on video by a Long Beach Rapid Response patroller. Josué has since spent months inside the Adelanto Detention Center. His partner, Maria, and her daughter, Sara, are left searching for answers. Since his detention, Sara walks their dog, Queso, alone along the same route she and Josué once took together.
A GoFundMe has been organized by Long Beach Rapid Responders to help Josué secure legal representation as he fights for release and for the care he and his family say he was denied.
