While detained, Alicia experienced severe abdominal pain and vaginal bleeding. Onsite medical staff performed invasive procedures and administered medication without her consent or a clear explanation of her condition. After being informed she had miscarried, she was immediately returned to detention. Despite suffering from intense pain and continuous bleeding for over two months, her repeated requests for follow-up medical care were completely denied. It was only after her deportation that she was finally diagnosed and treated for a serious infection resulting from this lack of care. ICE policy mandates adequate medical care for pregnant detainees, yet these reports suggest a dangerous and total failure to uphold these standards. What is happening within these facilities (concentration camps) is unacceptable and poses a direct threat to the health and safety of those being held.
