Ya’akub has lived in the U.S. for 24 years. He is a DACA recipient, a first responder, a Muslim photojournalist, and a martial arts teacher.

One day after he filmed a Richardson City Council meeting where residents spoke out against the ICE detainment of a Dallas-area Muslim community leader, ICE revoked his DACA status and detained him - citing his social media posts as the reason.

This is not a coincidence. This is retaliation for free speech and our community will not look away.
