chicanismotoday Antonio, Caleb, and Joshua Gámez-Cuéllar, three brother from McAllen, Texas, were taken into ICE custody along with their parents last week. Due to being 18 and seen as an adult, Antonio was sent to El Valle Detention Facility in Raymondville, Texas while Caleb and Joshua were taken to an ICE facility in Dilley, Texas with their parents. Antonio and his family came to the United States legally to flee violence in Mexico and have always complied with regulations. Nobody in the family has a criminal record. All three brothers participate in their schools mariachi programs. Antonio and Caleb both attend McAllen High School, whose mariachi team recently received Division 1 Superior Ratings from all judges at the 2026 UIL Mariachi Festival.
