DHS allowed more than 100 detainees on a charter plane to sit for 12 hours on an airport Tarmac in New Hampshire, in the middle of yesterday’s devastating blizzard. It was 22 degrees without windchill, and there is no word whether they had heat in the plane for 12 hours.

DHS was deporting these people from Texas flying them overseas. The flight had to refuel before flying overseas and landed in Portsmouth New Hampshire in the middle of a blizzard. The flight arrived around 1 a.m. Monday and there were 35mph wind gusts at the time. Those strong winds prevented it from getting to the terminal. 

Airport officials said they were notified of the landing only about 15 minutes in advance and would have advised going somewhere else if they’d known sooner. They eventually made the decision (around 2:45pm)  to tow the plane and move the detainees inside the terminal. The detainees were fed and monitored, and there were no reported incidents. The plane finally took off this morning, reportedly bound for Bulgaria.
