ICE UPDATE — Sewickley Area | February 21
Bruno Guedes da Silva was detained by federal agents on February 21 near Osborne Elementary, according to his family. He is currently being held at a detention facility in West Virginia.
His family states that he has valid work authorization, a Social Security number, and a driver’s license. His wife, Ana Paula, and their two children remain in the Pittsburgh area. Their daughter, Maria, is undergoing chemotherapy at UPMC Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh as she receives treatment for Hodgkin’s Lymphoma.
Congressman Chris Deluzio confirmed that his office is in contact with the family and has called for answers regarding the basis for Bruno’s detention.
The family is now facing rent, medical, and potential legal expenses while working to secure legal representation.
