This story sounds unreal — but it’s confirmed reporting. A 16‑year‑old asylum‑seeking teen in Minneapolis was picked up by ICE, labeled an “unaccompanied minor,” and then essentially disappeared into the system for more than a week. His family had no answers.

He was moved from place to place — even held in a hotel under guard — and later flown to a shelter in Michigan run by a federally contracted agency where AS has been reported. . His parents didn’t know where he was, lawyers couldn’t locate him, and even ICE’s own attorneys told a judge they had “no record” of him in custody — until lawyers later tracked him down.

This isn’t rhetoric. This isn’t a border story. This is happening in communities across the country.
Kids deserve safety, transparency, and access to their families — especially when they’re minors. 👁️

We need to talk about this.
We need accountability. 🤝
