Terez Metry was appearing for a routine meeting at the Department of Homeland Security office on Brick Church Pike, hoping to get closer to becoming a U.S. citizen like her husband of three years. They submitted Form I-130, the first step toward a Green Card. The “good news,” they were told, was the form had been approved. But then Metry was detained by immigration agents. Her husband, friends and coworkers have been in shock since, trying to understand why someone who was following the rules so carefully had been taken into custody. Her husband believes she is being taken to Louisiana, where the government hopes to execute an order of removal.
