He is a double amputee, a barber, and advocate for lung cancer awareness. He has been detained by I*E over a year, taken 10 days after proposing to his fiancé Mildred. His health and prosthetics are deteriorating, and now has bone spurs in his back. Shortly before he was taken, Taylor was preparing a health fair with free health screenings and haircuts for undocumented immigrants. Rodney said, “I got a lot of help when I got to this country with my disability and everything, so I just felt like I had to give back to people. I try to do good. I try to do stuff for my community. Help people out. And it seems like all that doesn’t matter.” He was detained due to a crime he was unlikely to commit at 19 years old that he was pardoned for in 2010.
