ImmDef President & CEO Lindsay Toczylowski joined MS NOW’s (@msnownews) Deadline: White House (@deadlinewh) with David Noriega (@drnoriega) to discuss the case of our client, Vicente Ventura Aguilar, who has been missing for over 45 days after suffering a medical emergency in ICE custody.
Over 6 weeks ago Vicente and a friend were taken by masked agents while on the street in their neighborhood in South LA. His friend, now deported to Mexico, last saw Vicente fainting while in ICE custody. After MS NOW requested a response, DHS reported no records of him in their custody on the day of his arrest, and offered no further assistance.
Our attorneys and his family have searched hospitals, morgues, and government agencies across Southern California without success. His story is yet another example of the neglect and chaos of ICE enforcement under the second Trump administration, which has become synonymous with disappearing community members in the name of an inhumane and brutal deportation agenda that lacks due process.
With ICE's high rate of error and unlawfulness, the fight for due process for all is urgent.
