DHS is threatening to charge people who document ICE agents.

The Department of Homeland Security says filming and posting videos of ICE agents constitutes “violence,” and has threatened to charge people who take videos and photos of agents conducting raids in their communities.

DHS Assistant Secretary for Public Affairs Tricia McLaughlin told the Center for Media and Democracy that “videotaping ICE law enforcement and posting photos and videos of them online is doxxing our agents.”

Apparently she isn’t aware of the First Amendment (no surprise)

Reminder: The First Amendment protects the right to records law enforcement officers performing their duties in public. This includes ICE agents.
