Florence Immigrant and Refugee Rights Project’s Post 4,161 followers 2w All that Ana Granados Sanchez was asking is to see her specialist in person and hopefully get the nephrostomy tube removed, per medical advice, before literally being sent to a country that might not have those services. Despite the pleas from Ana and our organization, ICE deported her, putting her health in grave danger and further exemplifying the medical neglect our clients often face in ICE detention. “The urologist who installed her nephrostomy tube at Banner Desert Medical Center said the conditions she was held in after entering ICE custody last year could be the cause of her kidney problems,” the AZ Daily Star reported. “Granados Sanchez said she was held in a processing facility with two dozen other people, and forced to use a shared toilet with no privacy, making it difficult to relieve herself.” Ana also reports she wasn’t given any water at the initial processing center.
