NewsPublished: Apr. 09, 2025, 3:29 p.m.By Samuel Gaytan | sgaytan@lonestarlive.comA North Texas man who allegedly threatened to shoot and kill federal agents was arrested and charged in federal court, the U.S. Department of Justice announced.Robert Wilson King, 35, was charged April 3, 2025, via criminal complaint with transmitting an interstate threat, acting U.S. Attorney for the Northern District of Texas Chad E. Meacham said Monday in a news release.King made his initial appearance before U.S. Magistrate Judge Renée Harris Toliver on Monday morning and was detained pending a detention hearing set for Wednesday.The complaint alleges that on March 29, 2025, King posted a threat on a social media platform, stating: “If I see ICE agents in my neighborhood I’m opening fire. It’s time to stop being p****** and put the second amendment to work. ICE are not real cops, they are a secret police force with no real legal authority. Kill them.”A special agent with the Texas Department of Public Safety assigned to the FBI Dallas field office as a task force officer investigating domestic terrorism cases described the case in the complaint.The special agent said on March 29, 2025, the FBI received a tip about King and online threats he allegedly posted toward Texas Gov. Greg Abbott, U.S. Secretary of Homeland Security Kristi Noem and Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents.The person who told the FBI about the threat said he confronted King about the threats and that King confirmed he was serious about killing ICE agents and had no remorse about it.The complaint alleges that King’s Facebook account had posts threatening violence against Abbott and Noem. It notes that King recently stated on Facebook that he “ha(s) no respect for law enforcement” and acknowledged that his “rhetoric is growing increasingly more violent.” The special agent noted in the complaint that on Feb. 28, 2025, King allegedly posted on Instagram that the president is “a traitor to our country and interests” and “demand(ed) he be put to death.” King updated the post to state: “I don’t give a fuck anymore, give me the gun I’ll pull the trigger myself. Come get me FBI. Fuck this country.”The DPBs special agent said that on or about April 2, 2025, King was arrested on a warrant alleging terroristic threat, a third-degree felony violation of the Texas penal code, by a Kaufman County justice of the peace. The tipster said that when King made the threat against ICE agents on Facebook, he was living at a private home in the Dallas area, but at the time he confronted King, King was living out of his vehicle.The complaint states that King is currently being held in the Kaufman County Sheriff’s Office Detention Facility with a bond set at $7,500. The DPS special agent said that King has used different names on his Facebook account, including using Rob King in his Facebook profile. The special agent notes that in a screenshot he provided for the affidavit, King’s post about opening fire and killing ICE agents has been deleted or removed from public view on Facebook, and King’s profile name was changed to “Rob Gutierrez.”Authorities allege that King later posted on Instagram that he wanted to “double down” on his threat to shoot and kill ICE agents.The special agent also alleges in the complaint that King’s Instagram account has a threat to family members that “there will be hell to pay” if they are “stalking” his page and feeding information about his posts to anyone.The complaint also describes other instances of King’s alleged violent rhetoric this year, the news release said. If convicted, King faces up to five years in federal prison.Meacham praised the law enforcement agencies investigating this case, including the FBI’s Dallas Field Office, the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, and U.S. Secret Service. They received help from the Texas Department of Safety, the Kaufman County Sheriff’s Office, and the McKinney Police Department. Assistant U.S. Attorneys Douglas Brasher and Tiffany H.
