ALL SEEMS NORMAL ON NORTHWEST 23RD RIGHT NOW, BUT OVERNIGHT, INVESTIGATORS SWARMED THIS SEAFOOD RESTAURANT THAT THEY DESCRIBE AS A CRIME HUB. AFTER MIDNIGHT FRIDAY, THE STATE’S BUREAU OF NARCOTICS SERVED A SEARCH WARRANT AT THIS RESTAURANT ON NORTHWEST 23RD. WE DID FIND TRAFFICKING AMOUNTS OF METHAMPHETAMINE, KETAMINE, AND ALSO ECSTASY. AND WE DID SEE ONE FIREARM. DETAILS ARE LIMITED, BUT WE’RE TOLD MORE ARRESTS ARE ANTICIPATED AND 16 PEOPLE ARE NOW IN ICE CUSTODY. THERE WERE APPROXIMATELY 16 PEOPLE THAT WERE TAKEN INTO THE CUSTODY OF ICE, AND WE’VE GOT AND WE ARE ANTICIPATING A NUMBER OF ARRESTS. WE’RE TOLD THIS SEARCH IS PART OF A LARGER, ONGOING INVESTIGATION INTO ALLEGED ORGANIZED CRIME. THIS HAS BEEN A VERY LARGE AND COMPLEX INVESTIGATION. WHAT OUR EVIDENCE SHOWS IS DRUG TRAFFICKING, MONEY LAUNDERING, AND ALSO POTENTIALLY HUMAN TRAFFICKING IN BLACK MARKET MARIJUANA FARMS. AN ONGOING CONCERN FOR THE STATE. SOME OF THE PEOPLE THAT WE’RE INVESTIGATING HAVE TIES TO BLACK MARKET MARIJUANA FARMS. THEY’RE MOVING MARIJUANA OUT OF THE STATE AND LAUNDERING THE MONEY. BUT A LOT OF THOSE PEOPLE HAVE TIES TO THIS PARTICULAR ESTABLISHMENT. THE AIM IS TO IDENTIFY AND UNPLUG EVERYBODY THAT’S TIED TO THIS ORGANIZATION.
