According to a report from CBS News, Godfrey Wade, who lived in the United States for more than 50 years, was deported after an emergency stay of removal filed by his attorney was denied. An appeal is reportedly pending. According to CBS News, Wade entered the US lawfully as a teenager in 1975 and later enlisted in the US Army, served overseas and was honourably discharged. He reportedly lived as a permanent resident for years, working as a chef, tennis coach and fashion designer. However, according to the American news outlet, Wade was arrested in September last year for driving without a licence. He was later detained by ICE due to a 2014 removal order stemming from a 2007 bounced cheque and a 2006 simple assault charge.
