CAMDEN, N.Y. -- The owner of China Moon, a Chinese restaurant on Main Street in Camden, was arrested by federal agents on June 27.Jian Hao Zhang was put into a van with blacked out windows by officers from U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, the Department of Homeland Security and Border Patrol, according to the owner of a neighboring business.According to the Syracuse Post-Standard, Zhang is in an ICE detention center in Batavia.The immigration court notice does not list any charges or an upcoming court date.A spokesperson for ICE told the Syracuse newspaper that Zhang "came to the U.S. on a fraudulent visa in 1990. In 1999, an immigration court judge in New York City ordered him to leave the country by July 2000. He didn't go.""The alien has a final and executable order of removal," the spokesperson added, though it is unclear if, when, or where, that deportation will occur.The family had no comment for NEWSChannel 2 when a reporter visited their apartment, which is on the second floor of the restaurant.They have asked for privacy, and an administrator of the Camden community Facebook page has removed posts discussing the incident.But several residents NEWSChannel 2 spoke with said they believe the story needs to be told, though none were willing to appear on camera.They praised Zhang's work ethic—the restaurant was open six days a week— and contributions to the community.On the door to his restaurant, there are multiple stickers signifying support for several police benevolence funds.The restaurant has remained closed for the past two weeks since the arrest.Through the blinds, there is still an American flag on display inside the restaurant on the counter.
