School officials say students on the bus and at the stop might have seen the encounter. CRYSTAL, Minn. — A parent was arrested by ICE agents while waiting at a school bus stop with their child in Crystal, school officials say. Northport Elementary School principal Bridget Dooley sent a letter to parents Wednesday about the arrest, saying other students at the bus stop and students on the bus might have seen the encounter. Dooley said all students were able to safely board the bus and arrive at school. "We recognize this news can create fear, confusion, and anxiety for students and for adults. School psychologists, social workers, and other support staff will be available to provide counseling and support for any students or staff who need it. Staff will also be monitoring students closely throughout the day and providing appropriate support, Dooley said in the letter. NBC News reports that since Operation Metro Surge began on Nov. 29, more than 2,400 people have been arrested in the Twin Cities. Minnesota leaders are suing to end the operation.
