GARDEN GROVE, Calif. — This week, a father was detained by ICE shortly after dropping his daughter off at an elementary school. According to the district, families witnessed the man being surrounded by unmarked vehicles at an adjacent corner on Tuesday morning, handcuffed by masked individuals and taken in one of their cars. According to Garden Grove USD, the man was released within the hour after he was able to present documentation. In the meantime, the school had followed district protocols, which call for a brief lockdown to “ensure student safety.”
