A man – who officials say was in the country illegally and interfering with the work of federal investigators – was taken into custody after U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents entered a Montgomery County home. Léelo en español aquí SkyForce10 was over the home on Ridge Pike and North Barry Avenue in the Trooper section of Lower Providence Township, Pennsylvania, on Monday, Feb. 9 around 10 a.m. as the agents surrounded the house. A spokesperson from the Department of Homeland Security told NBC10 on Feb. 10 that ICE was conducting a targeted immigration enforcement operation to take Jose Manuel Cordova Lopez into custody for overstaying his visa. Lupe López, who lives at the home, told NBC10 that her cousin – 26-year-old Jose Cordova-López – was the man who the ICE agents took into custody. Officials told NBC10 that Cordova-López is a citizen of Mexico who entered the United States on Sept. 22, 2021, through the San Ysidro port of entry in California, using a temporary H-2A visa for agricultural workers. That visa was valid until Dec. 19, 2021. Officials said Cordova-López had been in the U.S. illegally since the visa expired. López said Cordova-López had left the home on Monday around 6 a.m. to head to work and was driving in her mother's white Jeep. While he was driving, federal agents began following him, surrounded the Jeep and at some point the vehicles collided, according to López. López said her cousin then left the scene. According to the criminal complaint, ICE and Border Patrol agents – who had learned about his immigration status – tried to pull Cordova-López over. Cordova-López slowed down but didn't stop, officials said. According to the complaint, the agents tried to block Cordova-López's vehicle with theirs but he accelerated, striking the vehicle of one of the officers before driving home and running inside. His family members disputed this, however. "They said he hit the car," a relative told NBC10. "But how can we know this? They made this up." Lupe López said ICE agents armed with guns were outside the house by the time her cousin arrived. This happened, she said, as she was sleeping inside the home. Her two younger brothers, ages 8 and 13, were also inside. "I literally awoke to people banging the f*** out of my door," she said. López said the agents told her that they would arrest her if she left the house and that they were trying to get a warrant to get inside the home. She told NBC10 she wasn't sure where her cousin was at that point. “Well, they had told us that when we get out, they’re going to detain us," López said. “I’m like, ‘He’s not in the house.' I’m literally in the house recording every part of my house, just recording to show how there are ICE agents at every window that we have.” López said an ICE agent armed with a "big" rifle then threatened her through the door. "He was like, 'I'm going to take you down,'" she recalled. "He said, 'I'm going to use this. We are going to gas your whole house. If he doesn't come out, we are going to bust your door open.' I was like, 'What are you talking about? You don't have a warrant.'" WARNING: This video contains graphic imagery that could be disturbing for some viewers. A person was taken into custody after masked ICE agents broke into a home in Eagleville, Pennsylvania. A woman inside the home sent NBC10 video of the agents breaking her door down as her younger brothers cry in the background. López shared video she recorded in her bedroom as ICE agents broke through the door. López said one of the agents was holding a gun as she sat on her bed and kept her in her bedroom as other agents searched the home for her cousin. The video shows her tearfully questioning why the agents are there and asking them if they have children as they continue to search through the house. One of her younger brothers is also heard crying in the background. López said the agents eventually took Cordova-López into custody. A crowd of protesters gathered in the neighborhood as the ICE agents led him away in handcuffs. According to court records obtained by NBC10, Cordova-López was previously arrested for driving under the influence in Lower Providence Township, Pennsylvania, back in August of 2025. He was charged with several misdemeanors in connection to the case which remains active in the court system. His court hearing in connection to those charges is scheduled for March 2, 2026. Court records also show Cordova-López had a traffic infraction back in 2023 in Philadelphia where he pleaded guilty to failing to carry a driver's license. López told NBC10 she currently has her green card and is in the process of getting her U.S. citizenship. She also said her mother has her citizenship and that both of her younger brothers were born in the U.S. State Rep. Joe Webster (@RepJoeWebster) February 10, 2026 On Tuesday, Senator Katie Muth, Senator Art Haywood, Commissioner Neil Makhija, and other officials held a press conference in response to the incident. "This kind of brutality is completely unacceptable," Haywood said. "All of our neighbors have dignity; no one deserves to have their door broken down in the fashion that it was." Sen. Muth called the situation "unfortunate." "It's unfortunate that today, here in our country, which is supposed to be the greatest country in the world, immigrants, even people who are legally here, are being detained by ICE," she said. "ICE raids in our community don't make us any safer." Commissioner Makhija pointed out that other law enforcement officials don't wear masks. "None of these law enforcement officials wear masks, our sheriffs don't wear masks, our police officers don't wear masks, detectives don't wear masks," he said. "All of these law enforcement agents do the work they do, in a way that is respectful, in a way that is committed to upholding the rights of every citizen, and in a way that they aren't afraid to show who they are and what they represent." State officials react after a man was taken into custody as ICE agents entered a Montgomery County home on Monday. On Wednesday, the family of the man arrested called for those agents to be fired and demanded an independent investigation into the raid and full compensation for the damage done to their home.
