This marked the first time terrorism charges were successfully brought against activists by the Justice Department as federal prosecutors accused the protesters of being members of antifa. The trial focused on a reported shooting that happened during a protest outside the Prairieland ICE jail in Alvarado last year. The coalition DFW Support Committee said, “This is a sham trial, built on political persecution and ideological attacks coming from the top.”Topics:TexasDepartment of Homeland SecurityAntifaImmigrant RightsImmigrationThe original content of this program is licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution-Noncommercial-No Derivative Works 3.0 United States License.
