A 15-year-old boy briefly ended up detained at the immigration detention center in the Florida Everglades dubbed "Alligator Alcatraz," an attorney said. The teen was in a car with five adults heading to Tampa when authorities stopped the vehicle back on July 1, attorney Marianna Delgado told NBC Affiliate WFLA. 'ALLIGATOR ALCATRAZ' LATEST The teen was scared and lied about his age, telling authorities he was an adult, Delgado said. He was held in Tampa before being transported to "Alligator Alcatraz." “He was not provided a change of clothes,” Delgado said when asked about the conditions in the facility. “He was not allowed to shower. He had to use the bathroom in front of everyone. Some officials did speak Spanish, and he did not know where he was being taken.” According to The Florida Division of Emergency Management, when the teen shared his real age, "Immediate action was taken to separate and remove the detainee in accordance with federal protocols." The teen was brought to a South Florida facility operated by the Office of Refugee Resettlement.
