I never imagined I would find myself in a situation where I would need to ask for help, as some of y’all know I really don’t like to do these things but my family is facing an difficult situation. Recently, my husband Diego was arrested and is currently being detained by ICE. He has always been the sole provider for our family making sure we had everything we needed. Since the birth of our baby girl, I have stayed home to care for her full-time, and we relied entirely on my husband’s income to support us. Now, I am facing this challenge while also being four months pregnant with our second child. Between caring for our daughter, attending my pregnancy, and dealing with the emotional stress of my husband’s detention, finding employment has been extremely difficult. As many jobs require physical labor that I am not able to do safely during my pregnancy, and the process of securing suitable work takes time.At the moment, I am simply trying to keep up with our basic household expenses, including rent, utilities, groceries, transportation, and other essential bills. And for my husband also to fight his case, and for him to not be deported.
