COLUMBUS, Neb. (WOWT) - One person was arrested Thursday in Columbus following an ICE operation in the area, according to the Columbus Police Department.CPD posted on social media Thursday morning, advising residents of an active U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement operation in the area.According to a 10 a.m. post on the CPD Faceboook page, ICE agents were in the Columbus and Platte County area “to contact subjects that have failed to comply with a previously issued deportation order.”At about 2:50 p.m., CPD said in an update that ICE had completed the operation and taken one person into custody.“One subject detained was a convicted sex offender that had been been previously deported,” the post states.—Watch breaking news unfold on our livestream.
