Joaquin Castro is calling for an investigation an alleged Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) raid on a San Antonio home after a video of the incident began circulating online.Castro said Friday that the video raises serious concerns about immigration enforcement practices under the Trump administration, which he claims has "purposely freed up more ICE agents to go and break into people’s homes with no warrant, without cause."A viral video capturing a tense confrontation between armed law enforcement agents and a family has sparked outrage on social media. The incident, which involved women and children inside the home, has raised significant questions about the legality of the agents' actions.The situation began with a knock at the door, quickly escalating as two agents entered the home. In the video, voices can be heard repeatedly asking, "Where the f--- is your warrant?" as the agents appeared to ignore requests to produce one. The agents continued to search the house, with one family member claiming they broke a window.The confrontation seemed to de-escalate as the agents prepared to leave, but tensions flared again when a man attempted to shut the door on one of the agents. The agents eventually left without making any arrests, leaving questions about their presence and the absence of a warrant.Criminal defense attorney Jonathan Chavez commented on the complexity of such cases, especially at the federal level. "At the federal level, especially, you're dealing with stuff like no knock warrants and a lot of things like that...if you legitimately thought that he was somebody was coming in illegally. So they do have that right, like I say, it'll take them a long time to play out," Chavez said.We reached out to multiple San Antonio attorney's to find out what ICE agents are within their legal right to do."What we're seeing is is a serious violation of constitutional protections rights," said Immigration Attorney Guillermo Hernandez. "Barging into somebody's house without permission and then not even showing any kind of documentation when people are asking, Where's your warrant? What's your authority to be here?""When ICE is entering a private residence or they're detaining people without probable cause, those things are acting outside the scope of the constitution," Robert Jimenez said. He accused Gov. Greg Abbott of enabling such situations, stating, "He's supporting it. He agrees with it, and he's enabling it...He's purposely freeing up more ICE agents to go and break into people's homes with no warrant, without cause."Efforts to reach the woman who posted the video and to obtain a statement from ICE have been made, but the claims regarding the citizenship status of those inside the house remain unconfirmed.We've reached out to the local ICE office for comment on the video.
