WICHITA COUNTY (KFDX/KJTL) — A joint major enforcement operation resulted in 24 individuals being detained and over 100 traffic stops in Wichita County.In a news release from the Wichita County Sheriff's Office (WCSO), the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) Weights and Measures Unit, the Electra Police Department and the WCSO Patrol and Commercial Vehicles Unit joined together for a major enforcement operation called "Operation June Bug."The operation totaled:132 traffic stops93 commercial vehicle stops109 equipment violations issued by DPS15 truck/trailer combination impoundedOne cab impounded24 individuals detained for being unlawfully present in the United StatesThe WCSO detained 19 individuals, the Electra Police Department detained four and DPS detained one.Those detained were from Mexico, India, Cuba, Algeria, Venezuela, Tajikistan and Russia.You can now stream KFDX and Texoma's FOX live 24/7 on your smart TV with KFDX+, our brand-new app!
