ICE arrested Josue Coreas-Chavez after his New York prison release, holding him for immigration proceedings that could lead to removal due to alleged MS-13 ties.Josue Coreas-Chavez, 29, was arrested by ICE Buffalo on April 18 immediately after release from the Wyoming Correctional Facility in Attica. ICE identifies him as an illegal immigrant from El Salvador suspected of MS-13 ties and holds him pending immigration proceedings that could result in removal. In January 2025, Suffolk County Court sentenced him to three years in prison and five years of supervised release for second-degree attempted robbery. He also received one to three years for conspiracy and 364 days for criminal facilitation, and ICE reports additional pending charges including robbery, kidnapping, assault, coercion, unlawful imprisonment, and grand larceny.
