At one point, a passenger fled but was later apprehended. The driver was forcibly removed from the vehicle due to noncompliance, temporarily disrupting traffic.Authorities stated that both the driver and one passenger were found to have active ICE detainers. The driver was booked into the Weber County Jail on charges including speeding, resisting arrest, and driving without a license. The front passenger faces charges for fleeing and the warrant, while a second passenger was arrested for interfering with the traffic stop.UHP's full statement can be read below:"On Monday, March 30, at approximately 8:14 a.m., a trooper initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle traveling near 5600 South I-15 northbound, Weber County, for excessive speed.During the interaction, the driver was unable to present a valid U.S. driver license or any other acceptable form of identification. With assistance from the Weber County Sheriff's Office and ICE agents, the Trooper attempted to identify the driver and gain the driver's cooperation. As the situation evolved, one of the passengers fled the scene, but was apprehended, and the driver was extricated from the vehicle due to noncompliance. Local traffic was disrupted for a short time.With assistance from the agencies, it was determined that both the driver and a passenger were subjects of active ICE detainers.The driver was charged with speeding, resisting arrest, and driving without a driver license and was booked into the Weber County Jail. The front passenger was charged with fleeing and booked on his warrant.
